Renovation Projects.

Maintaining the historical integrity of your home is our priority, and having a home you love is our goal. We provide a guided process that emphasizes collaboration and creativity every step of the way.

We thoughtfully consider the landscape, surroundings, and the home’s original architecture to produce a design that honors all three.

New Construction.

Our design methodology is based on three very important factors: observation, visualization, and curation. During our initial consultation, we will discuss your specific needs and build a customized design plan for your new home ground up.

OUR SIGNATURE PROCESS

We are a full-service design practice offering bespoke interior design for your home. Our process is highly collaborative and deeply personal, resulting in sophisticated spaces that reflect how you love to live.

1. DISCOVERY

Each project begins with a comprehensive discussion to identify your needs, establish scope, and understand how you want your home to feel and function.

2. INSPIRATION & MOODBOARDING

After exploring your preferences, our team creates a visual concept of your home that will guide you through the overall design direction of your interior project. These usually are reference images or mood boards.

3. DESIGN

We develop a schematic concept or space design with the help of 2D drawings & 3D visualizations, and collaborate with you to ensure every detail is perfect. This is a visual and tactile process, where your home design is refined.

4. ORDERS & PROCUREMENT.

After the overall design has been fully finalized & realized, we document & freeze the drawings. Once that's done our team initiates the bidding process with contractors and vendors for final costs. The team also helps order new furnishings, fixtures, and accessories for your home in this step.

Post that we facilitate a signoff document to confirm the scope & offerings.

5. EXECUTION

Our design team facilitates all aspects of your home's construction & interior design. We help you plan, design, buy, customize, install all furniture, furnishings, art, and accessories for your home.

6. REVEAL & HANDOVER

Your home has been fully designed, with exceptional care, thoughtfulness, and innovation. When interior design is complete, we have a few surprises left before we pop the bubbly and welcome you home.

FAQ

1. Why is hiring a interior designer valuable & required ?

Sometimes it’s hard to understand the value of a designer when there seems to be so much on the internet that tells homeowners how to do their own design work. Indeed, you can do it yourself, but a designer will:

  • Interpret your ‎vision into something achievable.
  • Determine and assess the space for better space planning & utilization. Design the correct sizing of furniture or built-ins and work out the best layout.
  • Bring experience to the table as well as contacts, companies or suppliers that have a good record of service.
  • Be a calming presence during what can be a difficult time for some people.
  • A designer is your advocate on-site, making sure you get the best space possible. They can often see things that contractors missed.

2. What happens in the first meeting?

The first meeting DISCOVERY is often the longest as this allows us both to get to know each other. We tour your space, discuss your goals and determine the best direction to move the project forward. ‎

In this meeting, you can show us pictures, describe your thoughts, discuss your design needs and tell us your budget. It's at this meeting we all need to "put it all out on the table"! If we know what you want to do we can address priorities and cost. We can determine how involved you want us to be and what your "homework" is.

After we leave we take all this info and discuss the sequence of next meetings. We will then coordinate these future meetings with you to ensure they work with your schedule.

3. How do I estimate the project budget?

We do provide you with a tentative estimate after all the data has been taken from you post Discovery Session.

However, it’s easiest to create a budget room by room and then add up each room’s cost for an overall estimate. Generally, things will cost more than you think, after all, when was the last time you bought a sofa or hired a painter? If your house has increased in value, assume the fixtures and furnishings that go into the house will have increased in cost as well!

Go shopping if you don’t know the cost of things. For instance, go to retailers where you would purchase things from; not the cheapest place, but something that you will definitely wish to own in your new space as we are improving your home.

Check out the price of a sofa, furniture (tables, etc.) and electrical fixtures etc. This will give you an idea of how to gauge the cost of things realistically.

4. What is the order of things in a project?

The first few meetings are Discovery; often the longest as this allows us both to get to know each other. We tour your space, discuss your goals and determine the best direction to move the project forward. ‎

With the necessary information in hand we then move into the Inspiration & Mood-boarding stage where we articulate the data collected from you in the form of reference images and mood boards. This is followed by a tentative cost estimate for the project.

Once the design direction and budget is in the sweet spot we confirm the project to move ahead with actual site measurements and designing of the space.

Designing is a collaboration between the designer & homeowners, & its a wonderful journey when taken in the right spirit and understanding.

5. What are drawings and why do I pay for these?

Drawings are plans of a space or room that locate walls, circulation of a space, furniture and fixtures etc.

When measurements of the site are taken we represent it through a CAD drawing on paper. A CAD (computer-aided design) drawing puts everything into scale and shows exactly what fits and what doesn’t.

Drawings are extremely valuable for space planning, furniture sizing and placement and can save you a lot of money in the long run as they eliminate any question as to where something will be placed. Drawings are a tangible thing that are used to price a scope of work by designers or vendors and they help to clarify what is envisioned for the space‎ before construction.

In case of Renovation projects drawings made out of measured site conditions are 75 percent correct, and represent the optimal design. However, we don’t know what’s behind the walls or false ceilings, so the proposed design may change once the removal begins. This is typical in all drawings whether for new construction or renovation.

It’s also important to note that as per the drawings made, design language & the scope of work we choose the execution team well suited for that type of work.

If you have your own contractors, we will check their work & methods to see if it aligns with our sensibilities, to do justice to the finished project.

6. What is the timeline for the complete project, can we speed up the process?

Once our clients hire us, they often think we can control the timeline. Like you, we want the project completed efficiently but it takes time to finalize a design language for the space, plan the space, create drawings, discuss & reiterate designs, select materials, place orders for bought out items, get items shipped etc.

All the different stages of a project adhere to their own schedules. It will be one of the first things you’ll ask us but all we can do is an estimate.

For the same reason, we have made a particular process so that things are lined up properly till handover. As designing, decision making, number of meetings and selections are ultimately in our control as collaborators- builder possession schedule, execution, manufacturing, shipping & lockdowns etc. have their own timelines, which we need to respect to maintain good quality work. We can plan the same before hand, but cant hurry them.

We will do our best to keep the project moving in time as we believe in our well tried process & methods. That’s why it’s important you make your decisions without delay, too. Remember, we’re partners in this and we want it to be a great experience for you.

NOTE:

A Full Home Interior projects typically takes minimum 4 to 4.5 months to complete incl. designing; whereas small individual room projects may take lesser time. It all depends on the scope of work & effective decision making and planning.
