Shantanu Waykar is the Founder and Creative Director at S.ALT Atelier, established in 2020 with operations based in Pune, Mumbai & consulting world over.
Over the past five years, Shantanu has worked with a reputed furniture & interior design studio handling luxury residential projects around Mumbai. He also has an experience of working with the largest start-up in the Interior design space, as the core team member for Mumbai & later helping them set up another office in Pune. Thus, Shantanu has acquired the reputation of a through creative for pushing the boundaries of approachable design, setting up processes for design businesses, & his business knowledge & client handling.
His impactful, refined & minimal sensibilities in design draw inspiration from a myriad of creative fields including art, architecture, fashion, music and hospitality, where Shantanu began his career. Thus bringing diverse sensibilities, richer customer experience and approachable connection for the clients.
He has been awarded by The Society Interior Magazine- the “Award for Out of the box thinking", during an interior & furniture design competition in the initial stages of his career. So, breaking the limits of creativity is not new to him.
We have earlier seen him working within the Indian Music industry, with many reputed artist and bands such as "Agnee" as their photographer- again a specific niche that he chose. With a personal photography project "The Insomniac" published with Vogue Italia, (now available as an NFT Art work) demonstrates that he has an eye for compositions which are reflected in his designs.
Shantanu usually juxtaposes formal design elements with unexpected materiality, & space flow that has attracted clients from business, finance, music and entertainment industries.
In addition to a few amazing ongoing residential projects, Shantanu is currently at work on a line of products & petite furniture pieces which reflect #Slowliving sensibilities adopted by him.
He lives in his family home in Pune with his Landscape Architect wife & loves sketching & the outdoors.
